A polished answer isn’t always a correct one
How to check facts, sources, and dates in AI answers.
A sample for reviewing the design. This text is abbreviated; it is not a finished blog publication.
It is easy to mistake fluent writing for a verified answer. I suggest looking at the evidence, rather than the confidence of the wording.
Identify claims you can check
Dates, prices, specifications, and quotes deserve a separate check, particularly when a decision depends on them.
Open the source
Check that it exists and actually supports the conclusion. A link on its own is not evidence.
Check the date
Even an accurate description can become outdated. Pricing and product features are common examples.
Separate judgment from fact
“This plan does not include a feature” and “the service is inconvenient” are different claims. The first needs a check of the terms; the second needs a task and criteria for the judgment.
Curiosity is a good place to start.
